BANGALORE: A 33-year-old woman, who was alone at home was found murdered at her residence in Hanumanthanagar on Thursday afternoon.The victim has been identified as Aruna, wife of one, Somesh. The couple who owned a provison store in the city, hailed from Mulbagal taluk in Kolar district and have two children Niharika and Trishakthi.According to the police, Aruna carried lunch to her husband every day. On Thursday, she did not go to the store nor responded to her husband’s calls. Sensing foul play, Somesh went to his residence to check on his wife. When entered, he found Aruna’s throat slit open and she was lying in a pool of blood, the police said. The children were in the school when the incident happened.The couple had recently shifted to this place, the police added.Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Alok Kumar, visited the spot and said the chances of unknown persons killing the woman was ruled out as there was forcible entry into the house.“The victim probably knew the murderers and she had opened the door without anticipating the consequence.Also, it is not a case of murder for gain as no valuables are missing from the house.It is too early to conclude the reasons. We are investigating on some clues available as of now,” he added.Hanumanthanagar police have registered a murder case and are investigating.
