A TADA court held four accused guilty of helping prime conspirator Tiger Memon in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

Mumbai: The TADA court on Monday held four accused guilty for helping prime accused Tiger Memon in smuggling arms and RDX that were used in 1993 serial bomb blasts, but acquitted another accused for want of evidence.

Muzamil Umar Kadri, Khalil Ahmed Sayyed Nazir and Gulam Hafeez Shaikh were convicted for helping in RDX landing operations at Shekhadi coast in February 1993, for transporting weapons and also for possessing arms.

The court also found Tulsiram Dhondu Surve, watchman of high security Wangani mircowave tower in Raigad district, guilty of allowing use of government property by Tiger for assembling arms and reloading them in jeeps and tempos for distribution in Mumbai.

Surve was also found guilty of concealing 59 bags of RDX in his agriculture field in Raigad district. CBI said that later the bags were taken away by Tiger's men.

He was also found guilty of offences under section 202 of IPC for not informing authorities of the smuggling of arms and explosives despite having knowledge of the activities.

Judge P D Kode, however, acquitted Anant Bhoir of Thane district, who had allowed his dumper to be used for dumping 59 RDX bags in Nagla Bunder creek.

The court said he was being acquitted as he was not aware that the goods were RDX. The judge noted that he had not accepted confession of Bhoir as well as that of a co-accused, implicating him.
