Former Shiv Sena UBT corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot dead by a notorious criminal Mauris Noronha in Mumbai’s IC colony during a Facebook live on Thursday evening. Morris, the man who shot at Ghoshalkar, shot himself later.

According to new information surfaced in the case, Mauris had alleged “harassment” at the behest of Ghosalkar and would repeatedly say he would “not spare” him.

Mauris and Ghosalkar were apparently in a political feud for the last three years.

Moments That Lead to Abhishek Ghosalkar’s Murder-

  • The murder was planned a few months back by Mauris Noronha, who believed that Ghosalkar was behind the sexual harassment case registered against him.
  • Abhishek Ghosalkar, 40, was killed in Mauris’ office, which comes under the jurisdiction of MHB police station.
  • The incident took place when Abhishekh and Morris were live on Facebook from Mauris’s iPhone, which was placed on a tripod on the ground floor inside the cabin.
  • Mauris and Ghosalkar’s friends were right outside the cabin where the incident took place.
  • A total of 6 rounds were fired, out of which 5 were fired on Ghosalkar. Mauris fired one round on himself. Mauris had kept the gun used in the firing inside a cupboard on the first floor of the building.
  • Mauris had stood still for about 4-5 seconds watching the lifeless body of Ghosalkar after shooting him. He then went to the first floor of the building, reloaded the gun and shot himself.
  • Mumbai Police on Friday arrested accused Mauris Noronha’s private bodyguard, Amrendra Mishra, whose pistol was allegedly used in the murder. Mishra was arrested under the Arms Act and will be presented in court on Saturday.
  • The gun was issued by Phoolpur police in Uttar Pradesh in 2003 and its licence was to expire in February 2026.
  • Police have recorded the statements of various people associated with the case, including eyewitnesses. Statements of Mauris’ family members were also recorded.
  • Sources said that Mauris’ wife told the cops he believed that Ghosalkar was behind the rape charges levelled against him because of which he had to spend 90 days in jail. Mauris would repeatedly mention that he will “not spare Ghosalkar”.
  • Their mutual friends were trying to resolve the conflict between them. The Facebook Live was an initiative for the patch-up.

A video of the incident showed Ghosalkar being shot in the abdomen and shoulder.
