New Delhi: In a rare intervention, BJP patriarch and Lok Sabha MP LK Advani expressed displeasure with the House Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar for not being able to run the Lower House and wondered why it can’t be adjourned sine die.

The former deputy prime minister made these comments after the House was adjourned following a ruckus between the Treasury benches and the Opposition on demonetisation.

“Neither you (Ananth Kumar) nor the speaker is being able to run the house,” Advani said. Earlier, he had sat through the pandemonium for the entire session on Wednesday.

Parliamentary affairs minister Ananth Kumar – who was once known as an Advani protégé – was seen trying to placate the BJP patriarch.

Advani later asked a Lok Sabha official until what time the House was being adjourned. When told it was until 2 pm, he wondered why it was not being adjourned sine die.
