Amit Shah Attacks Rahul Gandhi on 'Khoon Ki Dalaali' Remark, Says he has Crossed All Limits

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Friday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his "khoon ki dalaali" statement, saying it crossed all limits and was an insult to the country's soldiers.

Shah said the BJP wanted to ask the Congress leader whether anyone could put a price on the soldiers' service to the country.

“Rahul Gandhi's statement shows the Congress mentality. The Congress is trying to bring our Army’s morale down. The BJP will not do such things. We believe in our armed forces," Shah said.

Indirectly referring to CNN-News18's expose, the BJP president said investigative journalists have showed evidence of the surgical strikes "clearing doubts raised by some political parties".

On Wednesday, a police official in PoK had, in a telephone conversation with CNN-News18’s Manoj Gupta, admitted that surgical strikes took place in the early hours of September 29.

Wrapping up a month-long tour of poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, Rahul had on Thursday evening said: "Jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. Unki aap dalali kar rahe ho. Yeh bilkul galat hai. (You are hiding behind the blood of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir and those who carried out the surgical strikes for India. You are exploiting their sacrifices, which is very wrong)."

Apart from the BJP, Kejriwal, too, criticised the statement.

He reiterated that Congress salutes martyrs and Indian defence forces. Sibal said: “Pakistan is a patient who has cancer in the form of terrorism. We should cure Pakistan of this cancer. We want peace with them. There should not be any politics over our defence forces."
