New Delhi: Amul butter paid a touching tribute to slain journalist Jyotirmoy Dey on Wednesday with an ad that said "Karo sahi, daro nahin" (do not be afraid to do the right thing).
The photo of the 'utterly butterly' Amul ad, put up by the Mid-Day tabloid on their Twitter page, was an instant hit with tributes pouring in from people who condemned the brutal killing of the Mid-Day journalist.
A senior crime reporter and editor of Special Investigations of Mumbai Mid-Day, Dey was shot five times on Saturday outside his home, in broad daylight. His killers were reportedly four gunmen on two motorbikes.
The post mortem report suggested that Dey was shot from a close range and that five bullets hit him, of which, four hit him in the left chest and one was lodged under the right shoulder.
While speculation is rife that it was the work of the underworld, the police said it was the work of professionals. The funeral of J Dey took place on Sunday.
Dey has been covering the underworld for two decades, and has written two books on it as well, named, Zero Dial and Khallas.
