APL families to get 12 kg rice from PDS outlets

KOCHI: The food grains, sugar and kerosene to cater to the needs of the ration card holders in Ernakulam district are now available in the Public Distribution System (PDS) outlets, the District Supply Officer said here on Thursday. The APL normal sector will get 12 kilogram of rice at a price of `8.90 per kg and three kilogram of wheat at `6.70 per kg this month.Those who fall in the `2 food grain project  under the APL sector will get 10 kg rice and 3 kg wheat. The BPL card holders will get 25 kg of rice a month at `1 per kg and seven kilogram of wheat at `2 per kg. The Annapoorna card holders will get 10 kilogram of rice free of cost. Those who have complaints regarding the food grain supply system can file their complaints directly at the District Taluk Supply offices or by dialling the toll free number 1800 425 1550. The customers are also instructed to collect the bills from the PDS outlets for each commodity that they purchase.
