Army is co-operating well: CB-CID

CHENNAI: After a round of interrogation of Army officials through most part of Wednesday, CB-CID ADGP R Sekar announced that “the Army was co-operating well with us in the course of the investigation.”On a day when the man on the street was boiling with rage over the Army’s ‘inaction’, Sekar said that despite having identified what they believe is the ‘suspicious circle’, no one has been arrested or implicated as yet.Earlier in the day, Army officer S Bhanu was interrogated by CB-CID in connection with Dilshan’s shooting. Bhanu brushed past the media stating that it was a “routine inquiry” and that he was not authorised to say anything. He preceded Lt Col Ajay Singh who was taken in for questioning just before 6 pm. Brigadier Pankaj Sinha, while accompanying the other officials, said,  “They asked us to come and we have complied.” Sekar informed that that the forensic reports were due on Thursday.Meanwhile, a writ plea filed by advocate P Pugalenthi praying for a direction to the CB CID to arrest immediately the army personnel who were responsible is not a PIL, rather a publicity interest litigation, the First Bench of the Madras HC has held.
