Chotta Chetan created history as the first Indian 3D film when it was released. In spite of its success, not many filmmakers tried their hand at it. But post the Avatar fever or rather frenzy, everyone wants to be a part of the upcoming technology.

Let’s take a look at the Indian 3D films lined up to be made and released soon.

Endhiran aka Robot

The superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starring Endhiran also known as Robot has been under production for some time now. News is that Shankar plans to invest 125 cr. to make the film into 3D in order to curb piracy. The film is set to release before year end. Besides this Rajnikanth is also doing an animation film which would be converted into 3D. Ocher Studios-Adlabs-Warner Bros venture Sultan, The Warrior is rumoured to have already crossed Rs. 600 million in its making.

Shekhar Kapoor’s Paani

The film, Paani is set in a futuristic Mumbai and would be shot mostly in 3D. The shoot would take place in Spain. The film is said to star a younger 17 year old French actress and an Indian actor. Apparently Hrithik Roshan has been approached for the role. The film although made in English will also be dubbed in Hindi.

Thriller experts Abbas Mastan

Forever the duo in white has been known to make thriller films. But this time they plan to make it with a difference. Abbas Mastan have been making plans to direct a 3D film which is said to be produced by Woodpecker Entertainment & Pictures Ltd. In collaboration with New York based 21st century 3D. The leads for the movie have still not been finalised but there would be two leading actors in the film.

RGV’s experiments

News is that Ram Gopal Varma is planning two films in 3D. The first film with John Abraham will be called Raksha. The genre is adventure based. The second film belongs to his favourite genre, Horror. Ramu has roped in Riteish Deshmukh to play the pivotal role in his film Warning.

Another Horror by Vikram Bhatt

After his latest horror flick, Shaapit Vikram Bhatt is all geared for his next one. Titled Yama Dwar, the director plans to make this into a horror flick. Rumour is that he plans to cast Sushmita Sen in the film, although nothing is final.
