Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday asked Chief Secretary P P Varma to immediately fill up the existing vacancies in various government departments across the state.
According to an official release, the Chief Minister has "asked the Chief Secretary to submit the action plan within September 30". The Chief Minister has told Varma to review the status of the existing vacancies in all the government departments, educational institutions and government undertakings among others and prepare a time-bound action plan for filling up those on fast track mode.
"Gogoi asked all the departments particularly, Education Department where large vacancies exist, to fill up the posts after drawing a detailed road map and submit the report accordingly," the release said.
The statement, however, did not mention how much vacancies are there across different departments in the state.
