KOZHIKODE: Confirming CPM leaders’ role in the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan, the Special Investigation Team has received evidence about a party area committee leader of Panoor making arrangements for the medical treatment of one of the assassins who suffered an injury while carrying out the killing, sources said.Annan Vijeesh was injured when the gang repeatedly hacked TP’s face. The CPM area committee leader provided all assistance for Vijeesh’s treatment at Thalassery cooperative hospital, the police said. A CPM leader, who is a prime accused in Fasal murder case in 2006, is also under the SIT scanner. As per sources, the police team will carry out raids in the areas considered to be party villages where the suspects are reportedly hiding.The police got evidence about the involvement of Abhi of Moozhikkara, a murder accused and a quotation gang member, in providing facilities to the assailants for their stay in the Koothuparamba area. Abhi’s arrest would be recorded on Wednesday, the police said.Meanwhile, the SIT has got evidence that Kunjananthan, a member of the CPM Panoor area committee, organised the killing of a youth Subair in Kolavassery near Mahe in 2001, reportedly on the directions of the party leadership. Sources said no case was charged against Kunjananthan due to his political influence and he produced the ‘culprits’, who had no involvement in the case, before the police. This case was unravelled after the questioning of K C Ramachandran, a member of the CPM Kunnummakkara local committee, who is in police custody. Meanwhile, the police have confirmed that the sticker ‘Masha Allah’ fixed on the Innova car, which was used by the assailants, was meant to divert the probe to some extremist forces. The sticker was pasted hours after the killing on May 4, the sources said.
