MADURAI/TIRUNELVELI: After ‘Pottu’ Suresh, M K Alagiri’s trusted aide ‘Attack’ Pandi has been booked under the Goondas Act. The notice was served to Pandi, who has been lodged in the Central Prison in Tiruchy, on Thursday.Sources said Pandi was initially arrested in a case registered by the Central Crime Branch for illegal encroachment of one Kalpana’s property, which is worth over `1 crore, under Sections 406, 420, 427, 448, 468, 471 and 506(II) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on July 15.Another case was registered against him for illegally occupying a house under Avaniyapuram police station limits under Sections 147, 148, 294 (b) 323, 406, and 506 (2) of the IPC, read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Women’s Harassment Act, 1998, on July 17.A few other cases are also pending against him.A press statement said Pandi was involved in money extortion from the public using lethal weapons.Later, he was identified as a person disrupting general order and this was brought to the notice of Commissioner of Police P Kannappan, who issued orders to detain him under the Goondas Act.Meanwhile, four former DMK ministers visited ‘Pottu’ Suresh at the Palayamkottai Central Prison in Tirunelveli on Thursday. K K S S R Ramachandran, Thangam Thennarasu, Tamilarasi and T P M Mohideen Khan met Suresh in the prison, accompanied by district DMK secretary Karuppasamy Pandian. Four partymen are lodged at the Palayamkottai jail.
