Basavashree award for Lankan Activist

CHITRADURGA: Gandhian and founder of Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement, Ariyaratne will be conferred the prestigious Basavashree Award-2010 constituted by Murugha Mutt of Chitradurga. Pontiff Shivamurthy Murugha Sharana told reporters that the award would be given at a programme on August 15 at Basaveshwara Medical College in the city. Ariyaratne was chosen for his social and rural development works undertaken in Sri Lanka.
