A group of supporters of Narendra Modi on Friday launched a 'Team Modi' campaign in Chandigarh to drum up support for the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

'Team Modi' leaders Surinder Chauhan and Gurtej Pannu told reporters the campaign is being launched from Chandigarh and will gradually be taken to different parts of the country. They claimed that already 10,000 volunteers have enrolled for the campaign in Chandigarh under which they would participate in various activities to take Modi's message to every youth in the country.

Among the activities planned are poster campaigns by volunteers at vantage points in the city which will have a helpline number manned by the volunteers themselves. The volunteers will also go to colleges and universities where they will get forms filled by the students seeking their choice of prime ministerial candidate, they said.

"Those choosing Narendra Modi will be offered to enlist as a volunteers in 'Team Modi' and specific task in the campaign will be assigned to the student," they said. Volunteers will also carry Modi support stickers on their vehicles at all times to spread the message.

Maintaining that 'Team Modi' was not being backed by any political party, they said it was the desire of the youth volunteers to see Narendra Modi as prime minister which had brought them together on this platform.
