Body of 4-year-old girl found in tree cavity

KATTAPPANA: A 4-year-old girl was found murdered after her body was located in a tree cavity near estate lane in Sasthanadu, near Kumily, on Wednesday. The victim is Sreeja, the only daughter of Sasikumar and Malathi, who are the workers of Greshma Nadipara Estate.According to the police officials, Sasikumar was living with his family at an estate lane in Sasthanadu. The parents always left the girl alone at home and went for work. An estate worker who was passing through the estate lane found the body in a tree cavity in the afternoon. The police suspect that the murder has been committed only after 11 am as the neighbours had seen her playing in the courtyard.The police suspect that the victim was raped before she was killed as many marks were seen on the body. The body has been sent to Kottayam to conduct medical test. The polive have started a probe.
