The body of a one-and-half year old girl, who accidentally fell into the Musi river at Nagole in Hyderabad after slipping from her father's arms, was recovered on Friday.

The body of a one-and-half year old girl, who accidentally fell into the Musi river at Nagole in Hyderabad after slipping from her father's arms, was recovered on Friday.

The body of Manvi was found floating near Hayath Nagar at a distance six kms from the scene of the accident, said the police. On Thursday, Meghashyam Reddy, an NRI doctor from the United Kingdom, had taken his daughter Manvi and two other children of his relative to the river for sightseeing. While Reddy held his daughter on the railing of a bridge of the river, she suddenly slipped from his arms and fell into the river and got washed away.

Lake Police personnel along with expert swimmers, fire service teams and municipal workers had till late last night carried out search operation to locate the toddler, but the body could not be recovered.

However, the body was traced this morning when police again launched the search operation in a boat. L B Nagar police were further investigating about the incident.
