ROURKELA: A seven-year-old boy, Sivam Bindia, who was kidnapped by his neighbours for ransom, was found murdered on Sunday. The boy had gone missing 13 days ago. Three persons, including a woman, were arrested in connection with the incident. They have been identified as Anand Tadia, Gurubari Ekka and Raoji Sahu. Following their interrogation, Sivam’s body was retrieved from a septic tank.DSP (Crime) P K Mohanty said the boy from Tumkela slum near Sector-16 went missing on May 16 and was killed the same day. The accused, however, kept making calls to his family demanding a ransom of ` 2 lakh. After strangulating the child, they made phone calls to his father Sukru, a mason, to pay ransom for his release. One of the abductors believed that since the boy’s grandfather retired from the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) recently, his family would give the ransom.
