New Delhi: At least 14 people were feared killed and five seriously injured when a Himachal Pradesh Road Transport bus fell into a deep gorge in Solan on Saturday, officials said.

The bus from Himachal's capital Shimla to Delhi was carrying 25 people when it plunged 200 metres into the gorge, said a senior government official.

It was not immediately known if the victims were tourists.

"Rescue operations are over. The injured have been shifted to hospital," said the official.

A rescue and relief team was rushed to the accident site to shift the injured to hospitals and extricate the bodies of the victims, they said.

They said senior police and administrative officials along with Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who is touring the area, supervised the operation.

The seriously injured were being brought to Indira Gandhi Medical College hospital in Shimla while the others had been admitted to Kandaghat and Solan hospitals.

The Chief Minister expressed shock over the accident and asked the district administration to provide all possible help to the victims.
