Four more persons injured in the blast are undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College and Hospital (MCH), Cuttack. They sustained burns when crackers-laden truck, in which they were travelling, exploded. The truck was part of a rally accompanied by some BJD leaders going towards Paradip for launching Biju workers’ union.Besides, the Opposition had demanded arrest of legislator Bishnu Das and School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena for their alleged involvement in the incident. The leaders had allegedly taken no permission from the administration for transporting crackers that were used during the rally. Although, the rival faction leaders are engaged in blame game, two complaints have been lodged in the local Kujang police station. However, locals had alleged police inaction against the political leaders, whose names have figured in the complaints. Police had only registered a case against owner of the unit from where the crackers were bought for the purpose.
