Celebrities skim through book fest

BANGALORE: The World of Books-2011 book festival organised by Indya Comics and Bangalore University, inaugurated on September 2, is attracting celebrity crowd in the first week. Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani, on Thursday purchased books worth Rs 2 lakh.“Minister wanted to have his own library at home,” a member from organising team said. Water resource Minister Basavaraj Bommai, an voracious reader purchased books worth Rs 50,000.The book festival will conclude on September 11.Note cine stars Ramesh Aravind and Puneeth Rajkumar are expected to be a part of the book festival.“Ramesh visits the book festival every year with his wife and children,” sources said.On Saturday, actor Puneeth Rajkumar is expected to visit the book festival.“He will distribute prizes for the best three book stalls and is also expected to buy books,” sources said.
