Chennai: School evacuated, searched after hoax bomb call

School authorities said that they received the call around 8.30 am, following which the school was evacuated. Their fears, it turned out, were unfounded.School authorities alerted the police, who arrived with a bomb squad and inspected the school.After scanning the campus, it proved that the call was a false alarm, following which classes resumed. When contacted, inspector Mohanraj of the KK Nagar police station informed Express that the call was traced to a public phone booth on East Vanniyar Street, KK Nagar, adding that it must have been the handiwork of a prankster. “We checked the school and found no bomb on its campus.
