Chidambaram to visit UT today to assess damage

PUDUCHERRY: Home Minister P Chidamabram will visit Puducherry and surrounding areas to take stock of the situation following the devastating cyclone on Monday . The Home Minister was scheduled to visit the affected areas on Sunday.According to Union Minister V Narayanasamy, the Home Minster would now visit Puducherry on Monday (January 2). However, the administration has made all arrangements to receive Chidambaram on Sunday.Narayanasamy said he had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram and explained the devastation caused by Cyclone Thane. Narayanasamy said PM assured all possible help to the government to overcome the crisis.
