Beijing: China has overtaken the United States and Japan to become the world's largest market of integrated circuits (IC) consumption in 2005, a report issued by IC Insights says.
The report states China covers about 20 per cent of the world's IC consumption market shares, which is up to $175.4 billion dollars in total.
With rapid expansion of IC consumption market in China, a surging demand for electronic storages has become a salient feature of China's electronics consumption market.
In the near future, the country will become the major growth point of world's storage market, an IC company official told Xinhua news agency.
Though with a huge potential, Chinese IC consumption market is still in pressing need of research and production capability enhancement.
