BANGALORE: With the city complaining against the BWSSB for the prolonged water worries, it seems like the water board is now brainstorming. Around 30 officials from the BWSSB, along with the new chairman Gaurav Gupta attended the BBMP council meet on Wednesday. Discussing the drinking water worries in interior residential areas and the reconstruction of borewells, the BWSSB has sought mutual help from the BBMP. “I agree that the city is facing water problems. Mainly, North and West Bangalore are bearing the brunt. We have discussed the issues in an internal BWSSB meeting and all the problems will be addressed soon. We have raised the same problems in the BBMP council meeting as well,” said Suresh Kumar, Minister for Law, Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs and BWSSB.Further talking about the core issues, the minister highlighted that the outskirts of the city lack Cauvery water. “We had called for tenders to supply water to all the areas on the outskirts which do not get Cauvery water supply. No one had come forward to place their tenders. This is the reason we have decided to supply water through regional tankers. This supply will begin from March 1,” Suresh Kumar explained.
