In Srinagar, mercury plunged to minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.

New Delhi: The biting cold wave across North India claimed one more life, taking the toll this season to 7.

Delhi became warmer on Tuesday at 10 degrees Celsius. But there was no let up in temperatures in Haryana with Narnaul reeling at a low of 1.5 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh registered a low of 5.3 degrees Celsius, while Srinagar experienced its coldest night of the season with the mercury plunging to minus 6.6 degree Celsius.

The famous Dal Lake is partially frozen. Rajasthan also got no respite from cold conditions with Sriganganagar recording a minimum temperature of 2.3 degrees Celsius.

However there was some relief from the fog on Tuesday morning in Delhi. Visibility improved to 1600 metres at Delhi airport.

Most flights seemed to be on time. One Domestic flight was delayed and another canceled. However these could be unrelated to the fog. Six international incoming flights were delayed, some of these due to snowstorms in Europe. No train delays were reported by far.
