New Delhi: Delhi police have recovered an MMS clip from the rapist of a 21-year-old Delhi University (DU) student who was allegedly drugged and raped in Sultanpuri area of outer Delhi. The clip is believed to be of a previous victim of the accused.
Delhi police has sent the accused's mobile and memory card for forensic tests. Cops suspect that he might be involved in other such incidents as well. According to police, the accused has been identified as Harish, a resident of Mangolpuri area, who works in a BPO in Gurgaon.
"The victim is a BA final year student and she was staying with her family in Sultanpuri area," said a police officer. The officer said that on October 16, she met a person, identified as Harish, at a cellphone shop and they became friends. "On October 22, Harish called her for a meeting in Prashant Vihar from where he took her to his flat. There he offered her soft drinks laced with sedatives. After having the drink, the girl fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness she found herself in the accused's bedroom.
He had captured her on camera in the nude and threatened her saying if she tried to inform anyone about the incident, he would upload her pictures on the Internet," added the police officer. Cops said that after sometime, the accused blackmailed her using the pictures and raped her. However, on November 18, the victim attempted suicide. She then finally narrated the whole incident to an NGO after which they approached the police.
