The CPI(ML) Liberation on Thursday implored the Left parties to gauge the public mood and take initiate to form a Third Front ahead of the general elections.
"The people are fed up with the system and anti-people policies of the UPA government which has plunged the country in a deep crisis," CPI(M-L) national general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said at a public meeting in Darbhanga.
He asked the Left parties to gauge the mood of the people and to form a Third Front as a genuine political alternative to the BJP and Congress-led coalitions at the national level.
Such a front must be worked out on the basis of policies and not on the issue of leadership, he said.
Blaming the UPA government for price rise, inflation and plunge in economic growth rate, the CPI(M-L) Liberation leader claimed the corporates and big industrial houses were dictating terms to the government.
"The price rise affecting the masses cannot be contained without bringing the corporates under control," he said and attacked the BJP for pursuing similar economic and foreign policies identical to that of the UPA. Bhattacharya also assailed the BJP for jeopardising secular ethos of the country by pursuing a hardline politics for electoral gains.
Describing the Bihar Chief Minister as a dictator, he said Nitish Kumar was trying to ensure survival of his government when the people of Bihar were suffering due to misrule of the JD(U) government.
