Dhoni highest IT payer in Bihar, Jharkhand

Patna: Having lead the Indian cricket team to Tri-series win in Australia, India's ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is also getting the I-T cash registers to ring.

"I can only say Dhoni is the highest advance Income Tax payer in Bihar and Jharkhand which come under the I-T department's Patna Commissionerate," Chief Income Tax Commissioner, S K Sinha said.

He, however, refused to quantify the amount paid by Dhoni as income tax for "security reasons".

Sinha said he would not disclose the amount paid by the cricket icon as in the past, several top tax payees had received extortion demands after the money paid by them by way of Income Tax became public.
