CHENNAI: As directed earlier by the Madras High Court, the Director of Medical Education (DME) Vamsa Dhara and MBBS selection committee secretary Sheela Grace Jeevamani appeared before it on Monday, in connection with a contempt of court case.Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, before whom the duo appeared, adjourned the matter till Thursday (August 25) to enable them to prefer an appeal against his order. He also dispensed with their appearance in the court in future.M Sathishkumar, an aspirant for MBBS course, of Chellamudi village in Dharmapuri district, filed a writ petition and the judge, while allowing it on August 1 last, had directed the authorities to admit him in any one of the government medical colleges in the first year MBBS course during 2011-12 based on his MBC ranking 399A, forthwith.Contending that the two had not complied with the direction, Sathishkumar filed the present contempt application.
