Alia Bhatt Supports Kangana Ranaut Amid 5-Year Feud, REACTS to Post Condemning Slap Incident
Alia Bhatt extended her support to Kangana Ranaut by liking a post condemning the CISF officer slapping incident.

Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF guard at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday afternoon. Kangana was travelling to New Delhi days after her Lok Sabha elections win from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency. The CISF woman constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, has been suspended. In the light of this incident, several celebrities have condemned this attack, including Alia Bhatt.

Faye D’Souza recently penned a post condemning the incident, which was liked by Alia Bhatt. The post read, “With reference to the incident of MP Kangana Ranaut being slapped at an airport, violence can never be the answer. Especially not in our country that was born out of Gandhi’s ideals of non- violence. It doesn’t matter how much we disagree with views and statements made by someone, we cannot react with violence and we should not condone it. It is particularly dangerous when security personnel react violently while in uniform. Imagine, over the last ten years, if those of us who questioned power were assaulted at airports by constables who were in agreement with that power.”

Over the years, Kangana has not shied away from criticising Alia. During the release of Gully Boy, Kangana gave a negative review to Alia’s performance in the film. In 2019, Kangana called Alia’s Gully Boy performance ‘mediocre.’ She told the paparazzi, “I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy Performance ….same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far…stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”

Alia accepted her criticism and praised her for her honesty. At the time, Randeep took to Twitter, now known as X, to laud her for her reaction. “Dearest @aliaa08 I’m so glad you are not letting the opinions of very occasional actors and chronic victims affect you and your work .. kudos to you for your continued efforts to outdo yourself,” he wrote at the time.

Previously, Kangana slammed the film industry for “celebrating” the attack and not supporting her. Taking to Instagram Stories, Kangana wrote, “All eyes on Rafah Gang this can happen to you or your children as well. When you celebrate a terror attack on someone be ready for the day it comes back to you as well.”

In another post that she deleted soon after, she had written, “Dear film industry you all are either celebrating or are totally mum on the airport attack on me remember if tomorrow if you walking disarmingly on some street of your country or anywhere else in the world and some Israeli / Palestinian hits you or your children just because you tried to bring eyes to Rafah or stood up for Israeli hostage… then you will see I will be fighting for your rights of free speech, if someday you wonder why I am where I am remember you are not me…”

What's your reaction?
