New Delhi: Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor's critically acclaimed film Do Dooni Chaar will open the 11th Annual New York Indian Film Festival to be held May 4-8.
Directed by Habib Faisal, the film chronicles a middle class "two-wheeler family's" journey to own a four-wheel vehicle. It marked the big screen comeback of the star Kapoor couple after 30 years.
"We are very delighted to release our film in the US by premiering it at the New York Indian Film Festival," Mahesh Samat, managing director of Walt Disney Company (India), said in a statement.
"Do Dooni Chaar is a heart warming story about the dreams and challenges of an Indian middle-class family. We are confident that the film will be enjoyed by our fans in the US," Samat said.
Rishi and Neetu along with director Faisal will walk the red carpet at New York's Paris Theatre as special guests.
