Lalu said as Govt had assured a discussion on Bofors, there was no need disrupt LS during Rail Budget proceedings.

New Delhi: The Opposition is baying for the Congress' blood over the Bofors issue andd George Fernandes has even gone on to say that Sonia Gandhi must be investigated to ascertain links between her and Quattrocchi, but the Railway Minister remains unfazed.

Lalu Prasad - who had to read out the new Rail Budget in Lok Sabha amidst Opposition chanting anti-Congress slogans and castigating the Congress on the Quattrocchi issue - made light of the charges against the Government.

He said that people like Quattrocchi come and go, but important legislative business should not be disrupted. He was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, "This speaks about the habit and culture of the members of the Opposition."

This was perhaps for the first time in the history of Parliament that a budget speech was continuously disrupted.

He said after the Government had assured a discussion on the issue, there was no need to prevent people from listening to his proposals.
