CHENNAI: As part of their annual felicitation of leading export and import companies to keep the spirit of trade alive, the Tamil Chamber of Commerce recently felicitated the EXIM trade fraternity.DP World Chennai (Chennai Container Terminal Limited or CCTL) received the prestigious EXIM Achievement Award. The award was presented by the Governor of Tamil Nadu K Rosaiah and was received by Ennarasu Karunesan, Director & Chief Executive Officer, DP World Chennai. Expressing happiness on receiving the award, Ennarasu said, “With additional facilities, equipment and processes, DP World Chennai’s commitment to the development of south India’s trade has been re-doubled with the recognition bestowed by the Tamil Chamber of Commerce.”The award recognises the company’s efforts to promote exim trade through the creation of modern facilities and infrastructure, he added.DP World Chennai has facilitated the growth of Chennai’s exim trade over the last 10 years and has contributed to the growth of south India’s economy.CCTL’s status as a leading e-terminal and other initiatives coupled with process re-engineering have enabled it to achieve the proud status of being the first terminal to have an in-house electronic solution to the documentation requirements of the trade.Besides DP World Chennai, other EXIM award recipients were Hyundai Motor India, ITC Limited, JSW Steel Ltd, BMW India, Chennai Port Trust, Ennore Port Limited, Marg-Karaikal Port Limited, Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited, Tata Teleservices, Maersk Line, Central Warehousing Corporation, A S Shipping Agencies Limited, Container Corporation of India and Sical Logistics Limited.
