New Delhi: An earthquake registering 6.0 magnitude on the Richter Scale was reported across the eastern coast of India on Wednesday, with its epicentre in the Bay of Bengal.
Mild tremors were felt in large parts of the country including Delhi, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kolkata, Gaya, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai and Visakhapatnam.
In Odisha, at least 50 people sustained minor injuries in a stampede soon after the tremors were felt. No damage has been reported as yet.
