In a major development in terms of the Lok Sabha polls, FIRs have been registered against BJP leader Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan after the Election Commission of India (ECI) banned them from holding public meetings and rallies and asked the concerned authorities to register FIRs against both the leaders for the hate speeches delivered by them.
In a major development in terms of the Lok Sabha polls, FIRs have been registered against BJP leader Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan after the Election Commission of India (ECI) banned them from holding public meetings and rallies and asked the concerned authorities to register FIRs against both the leaders for the hate speeches delivered by them.
The Election Commission of India in its letter stated that necessary FIRs should be immediately filed and criminal proceedings must be initiated against the two leaders.
"These public utterances are not only violate of model code of conduct but also constitutes serious offences," ECI added.
