A district education official in Warangal was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, Anti-Corruption Bureau said on Tuesday. Obili Rani, regional joint director of Board of Intermediate Education at Hanumakonda in Warangal, was caught red-handed by the ACB officials on Monday evening at her office when she demanded and accepted Rs 50,000 as bribe from the complainant.

She demanded the bribe for allegedly renewing the post of lecturer in computer science education on contract basis, an ACB release said in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
After recovery of the amount, Rani was arrested by ACB officials, the release added.
