Mumbai: Following his November 2005 announcement to the press that he had found the love of his life, Bollywood's 'smooch king' Emraan Hashmi took another step toward becoming the husband of pre-school teacher Parveen Shahani during an official engagement ceremony.
The ceremony was held on April 6 in Bandra, Mumbai at Shahani's home.
In accordance with the Sindhi customs of his bride-to-be, the Bollywood star was the only man present at the 15-minute ceremony, called kachche misri in which the boy’s family formally accepts the girl into their family.
To honour the faith of the groom, a Muslim engagement ceremony will also be conducted shortly before the couple's wedding, which is set for December 14.
Meanwhile, Hashmi's career is also on an upswing. He has many releases lined-up for this year including, director Anurag Basu’s Gangster in May, followed by Killer, Dil Diya Hai and Good Boy Bad Boy.
