Encounter Underway Between terrorists and Security Forces in Kupwara

Srinagar: An encounter took place between terrorists and paramilitary forces at Lolab forests of North Kashmir's Kupwara district on Thursday.

Acting on a tip off about the presence of some terrorists, the Army's 18 RR and SOG cordoned off Dobwan forest area in Khurhama.

While the joint team of forces intensified the cordon-and-search operation, the terrorists hiding inside the forest opened fire and tried to break the security cordon.

However, the forces engage them in a gunfight, police source said.

As per latest report the operation was going on in the area.
