BANGALORE: Frustrated with loud noise and month-long celebrations even after the Ganesha Chathurthi? The BBMP has good news for peace-lovers in city.The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is planning to restrict the number of days Ganesha festival celebrations can be held in public places.On Friday, during the post budget debate, Congress Councilor M Nagaraj suggested to the Mayor, to curb the menace, where organisers utilise public places.Organisers play music loud that often distracts public, especially students.“Instead of allowing them for a month long celebrations, it is adviceable to restrict days to 10-15 days from the day of Ganesha festival,” he suggested.Nagaraj pointed out that in many other States including Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, there is restriction in number of days, where Ganesha festival is organised in public places.Later Commissioner Siddaiah speaking to reporters said that they are planning to work along with the police to give restricted permission for the organisers.“However, the matter will be discussed in the Council and a resolution will be passed,” he said
