HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMR) authorities met officials of South Central Railway (SCR) on Wednesday, to sort out issues of metro connectivity to Secunderabad station and clearance for crossings over railway tracks.The HMR managing director met SCR general manager GN Asthana to discuss issues pertaining to clearance of four metro rail crossings over tracks on both sides of Secunderabad station and at Chilkalguda and Alugadda Bavi road under bridges (RUBs).With plans to convert Secunderabad station into a world-class station in pipeline, the crossings will be located on extreme ends of the main line. At the same time, direct connectivity will be ensured by locating both metro stations nearer to Secunderabad station. Sky-walks and escalators will be provided to facilitate easy transfer of passengers between the main station and metro stations.Explaining that all technical and safety issues pertaining to these crossings have been resolved through discussions and field inspections with SCR chief engineer Pradeep Kumar, chief operations manager Sunil K Agarwal and other officials, Reddy requested Asthana for early clearance of general agreement drawings (GADs) of the crossings.
