A. We do not grade our departments across colleges. Students and parents do. We have the same syllabi and we appoint teachers through the same processes. Every college is as good as any other in this university.

A. Difficult to predict now. St Stephens is a minority institution and follows a different set of procedures from those of Hindu.

A. We call it DC1 in English. It is Honours only in the 4th year (7th and 8th semesters). Admissions are given on the basis of cut-off marks in each college.

A. Yes, certainly. We also have an applied course related to journalism. Pl check our syllabi on the DU website. The univ offers other related DC2 courses too.

A. Our compulsory Foundation Course on Language, Literature, Creativity (II) might help.

Q. Will 4 yr degree course in English, lead to a job? Asked by: Kamya

A. Of course! That is the whole idea! It is now going to be a "professional" degree. Apart from DC1 (English) you will have done (at the end of 4 years)many other courses (Applied, Foundation and DC2), each of which is meant to empower the student in terms of skills, knowledge-base and hands-on learning. This is in sharp contrast to the purely academic degree BA (Hon) used to be earlier.
