BANGALORE: A blanket of eerie silence spread over the lush green lawns of No 1 Race Course Road, the official residence of caretaker Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Monday, following his resignation on Sunday.Though former ministers and MLAs thronged the house, the usual fizz, however, was missing, as every one tended to speak in a hushed tone. The strained walk of ministers and MLAs, with their eyes gazing at nothing in particular, was an indication and reflection of the shock that they were undergoing after Yeddyurappa’s resignation.Yeddyurappa, however, looked normal with his usual brisk walk here and there, and was giving instructions to his staff to take care of the visitors. Disappointment was writ large on his face, which is likely due to the general talk that his children are mainly responsible for his present state of affairs. His sons and daughters were inconspicuous, something unusual, as they were the ones who used to speak to the visitors.Yeddyurappa spent most of his time with a few of his ministers Basavaraj Bommai, V Somanna, C M Udasi, S Suresh Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP Ayanur Manjunath and legislator Lehar Singh Siroya at a secluded place in the garden. The caretaker CM had a brisk morning walk at Vidhana Soudha, pooja, discussions with DG & IG about the law and order situation, briefing with Chief Secretary S V Ranganath, his Principal Secretary I S N Prasad, Secretary Lakshminarayan on day-to-day administrative matters.
