Finally, Shyam gets a sponsor

KOCHI: Shyam, a student of Cooperative Medical College, Kalamassery, who had to discontinue his studies because of financial burden, can now heave a sigh of relief as a sponsor has come forward to bear his education expenses.Moved by Shyam’s plight, the Ernakulam district committee of KSU arranged a sponsor, P K Hameed of Thrikkakara, for him. An amount of Rs 50,000 was handed over to Shyam on Monday. MLAs Anvar Sadat and Hibi Eden, KSU district president Tito Antony and KSU state secretary A K Nishad were present on the occasion. The entire fee of Rs 4.90 lakh would be given to Shyam soon, KSU said.
