CHENNAI: In order to improve the fitness standards across the city, BFY (Better Fitness for You) has extended its presence into Chennai. Being one of the leading fitness training institutions, BFY offers over 150 different programmes in affiliation with international organisations such as American Council on Exercise,Gymstick and many more. The centre aims at honing and polishing skills of aspiring fitness trainers who aspire to build a career in the fitness industry. “We have brought international experts to India to teach the trainers here,” said Rajeev Goenka, founder, during the launch at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Having established centres in other metros such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore, BFY will initiate tie ups with gyms across the city and help trainers be up to date. BFY will also conduct seminars, workshops and specialised programmes for corporates and others on request, added Rajeev Goenka. BFY comprise experts in fields of health, nutrition and fitness. Chennai will have its own team of experts. Dr Ganeshan, sports physiotherapist, Dr Ramkumar, physical therapist, Vijaya, philates and yoga trainer for women, Supraja, occupational therapist, Veena, nutritionist, Ajit Shetty of Score Fitness Centre form the core team. Goenka said that they have planned to start with courses such as personal training, diet programmes, pilates, weigh management and pre & post natal fitness. The courses are three to six months long and will be conducted during the weekends.
