HYDERABAD: Traders under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits can renew their licences without penalty at any of the e-Seva centers or Citizen Service Centers (CSC) before September 30 as required under sections 521 and 622 of the HMC Act, 1955 for the year 2011-12. The GHMC has extended the deadline for renewal of licences from Sept 16 to Sept 30. Traders, who haven’t taken any licence, can also approach e-Seva centres/CSCs and apply for a licence.If the traders fail to renew their licences before Sept 30, they could do so between Oct 1 and Nov 29 but with a penalty of 25 per cent of the licence fee. From Nov 30 onwards, the penalty will be 50 per cent of the licence fee. If the traders fail to renew their licence even then, the GHMC may shut down their establishments as per the HMC Act 1955.
