HYDERABAD: Investing ill-gotten money in stock market fetched Shabiri Prasad Vyas only losses.Vyas, the gold merchant from Mahankali picked up by police for his alleged role in the recent robbery at Abids, told interrogators that a major chunk of money he made out of “regularising” stolen gold, he invested in stock markets.  “Vyas used to invest in stock markets frequently but suffered losses to tune of several lakhs of rupees. Yet, he continued to invest the money he made from stolen gold,” investigators said. Moreover, the one kg stolen gold recovered from Vyas was found in a water tank on the terrace of his house.  Sources told Express that besides Vyas, sleuths also nabbed Gopal Purohit, Narender and Deepak. Another member, Sunil Joshi is still on the run. While Vyas was nabbed from the city, Purohit and Narender were nabbed from Mumbai. The crime was reportedly executed by Purohit, Narender, Deepak and Sunil while Vyas watched the robbery from a distance. After taking his share of gold, Vyas headed home while Purohit rushed towards Secunderabad station and boarded a train to Mumbai, Narender and Deepak fled towards Bollaram while Sunil left in a different direction. In fact, the gold stolen from the two-Mumbai-based brothers Rakesh and Sonu Sakaria was not five kg but 4.3 kg. Sources said the jewellers sold 400 gm jewellery to one shop in the Old City and another 1.10 gm to Bajrang Lal Jewellers in Abids. About three kg stolen gold has been recovered.
