CHENNAI: The State Commissioner for the Differently-Abled has re-affirmed the government’s commitment to ensure the implementation of three per cent reservation in government jobs for the differently-abled.Speaking at a function organised by All-government Service Differently-Abled Welfare Association on Sunday here , State Commissioner for the Differently-Abled P R Shampath said, “The Chief Minister has special concern for the welfare of the differently-abled people. Her government is very committed to ensure the implementation of three per cent reservation for the differently-abled in various government departments as per the Disability Act 1995.”This statement comes as a relief for the differently-abled, as for the past one-and-half years more than 200 associations of the differently-abled had protested during the DMK regime for its implementation.
