Cracking the whip on government officers, Cabinet Secretariat has directed them not to approach the Prime Minister directly for their complaints.

The PMO has taken note of bureaucrats violating standard channel of communication and directly writing to the PM. The Cabinet Secretary has asked officers to curb such practices.

Several officers, including those from the Army and paramilitary forces, have been addressing complaints directly to the Prime Minister and ministers. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has reiterated a June 2013 order prescribing disciplinary action against such officers.
