Juhu Police arrested Govinda's nephew, Janmendra, along with his friends on assault charges.

Mumbai: A Bandra Court on Saturday remanded nephew of actor-turned-MP Govinda, Janmendra Ahuja, to police custody till September 27 for his involvement in a molestation case.

Juhu Police arrested Ahuja along with his friends on assault charges on Friday night.

He allegedly attacked the wife of a personal assistant to Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sunil Tatkare, Seema Chincholikar.

Ahuja, the son of film producer Kirti Ahuja and his friends were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by Seema.

In a statement made before the police, Seema alleged that Ahuja and his friends tried to molest her in the presence of her husband near Juhu Beach on the night of September 20.

She also alleged that when she fought back, the accused assaulted her husband.

Following investigations, Ahuja was booked under section 326 of the IPC (molestation and causing grievous hurt).
