New Delhi: Bald men are bonding in Jharkhand and they are determined to teach a lesson to those who mock them.
Taking on the hirsute majority, they warn that anyone passing snide remarks about bald-pates will be sued.
Christened the Ganja Ekta Union (Association for Bald Men's Unity), the movement is started by baldies of Jharkhand's Jamshedpur city.
"We have formed the organisation to teach a lesson to those who mock us. We can take them to court. No one is born bald. It is a biological disorder which makes a man lose hair," association president Kishan Khanna said.
"People cast glances that make them (bald men) feel as if they were from another planet," he added.
The association, which plans to open chapters in other districts of Jharkhand, will not only sue people but also take up the issue with the central and state governments.
Khanna also demanded reservation for the bald. "Bald people should be given reservation in jobs on the lines of handicapped and Dalits, as employers avoid appointing bald people in their offices. This is an injustice," he complained.
The association plans to write to organisations and companies urging them not to discriminate against bald workers.
It will also protect the numerous youths who are bald from being humiliated by their elders.
The association is planning to hold a national conference of bald people in October.
"We want to invite (bald) film actors like Anupam Kher, Prem Chopra, Feroz Khan and others to the conference," said association secretary Mohammed Shabir Khan.
